Facebook + Ziddio = Facebook Diaries

Ziddio. the new usergenerated video site but this one isn't your average 2.0 startup. this is a traditional media giant (Comcast) coming to play in the UMEDIA space. the best videos are availabe on Comcast on demand. I still haven't read up on if their will be compensaton for the content providers, however, i'm assuming yes.

To really get this thing announced Ziddio partnered with Facebook for the Facebook Diaires. Using advertising on MTV they announced a show about the facebook community: Facebook.com/diaries.



from what i could tell this site is completely user generated content and doesn't have the copywrite material of a YouTube.

Facebook Badges

somehow facebook upgraded their badge (widget) functionality and it slipped under my nose - until RJE7 woke me up.

Here's a sample of one:


They let you customize the info you want to provide and have a more dynamic javascript version that won't work with blogger.

Twitter

Twitter is the new rage. Not quite sure what i think of it yet, but do find it cool if you get a good collective of people you know on there. though some people go overboard (stay away from steve reubel)

Remix Videos

We've seen remix songs. We know this game. but love how Kanye takes it up a level with a video for this remix:



nice work using after effects and photo manipulation to create a cool piece of content without requiring much new shooting.

Convert Media

Great site that will convert almost any file type to any other file type. Its great tool for converting FLV files to MOV files.

Alot of recent buzz around Twitter. Twitter is messaging/subscription platform that works across IM/SMS/WEB and allows you to stay connected to friends, people, or organizatons however you choose.

Started byObvious, the same guys behind the podcast platform Odeo, Twitter seems to be the bigger of the 2 applications. They've even posted on the Obvious Blog that they are now looking to sell Odeo.

Of course Twitter has flash embeds to work on blogs and social networks...

Exciting news that the VodPod widget now is built in flash. the previous javascript din't work with blogger, sneakerplay, or some other social networks/blogs. unfortunately, the size is still locked so i can't manipulate it to fit into my blog. but i think this is very cool so still worth the post!

Thanks to TechCrunch (via George) i came across this new application looking to launch in January. Looks like it will let you upload media, then create custom module to embed all over net. http://splashcast.net

VodPod: Video Social Network

VodPod just launched. Another video social network, but this one lets you add videos from other sites (myspace, youtube, metacfae, etc). Its very easy - see a video you like on another site and click the "add to VodPod" on your bookmark tab. they have a video search that works across youtube, myspace, google, and daily motion which is still a work in progress.

I can subscribe to a YouTube RSS feed - most popular videoos, videos by certain providers, video with specific tags, etc. These will then appear in my profile on Stickam as thumbnails. You click on the thumbnail and it takes you to youtube to watch the video. Next step will be when these also appear in your Stickam module...
